He has been awarded the Sena Medal (Distinguished) for effectively commanding his battalion in Jammu
and Kashmir.
He is an alumnus of the National Defence Academy and the Indian Military Academy.
Exercise Mitra Shakti VII culminated
The seventh edition of the joint training exercise between the Indian Army and the Sri Lankan Army,
Exercise Mitra Shakti concluded on 14 Dec 2019 at Aundh Military Station, Pune.
A Contingent comprising of 120 personnel each from Sri Lankan and Indian Army participated in the
exercise.
The two-week-long exercise had commenced on 1 Dec 2019.
Defence Minister chaired a meeting
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh chaired a meeting of the Consultative Committee of Parliament for the
Ministry of Defence in New Delhi on 13 Dec 2019.
The subject of the meeting was Border Roads Organisation, BRO.
General BRO Lt Gen Harpal Singh gave a detailed presentation on the working of the
organisation, especially on maintaining operational road infrastructure for the armed forces.
NAVARMS 2019 organised
The 4th edition of the International Seminar-cum-Exhibition on Naval Weapon Systems ‘NAVARMS 2019’ is
being held from 12-13 Dec 2019 in New Delhi.
Its theme is ‘Make in India – Fight Category: Opportunities and Imperatives’.
Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh addressed the gathering during the Exhibition’s inaugural session on
12 December 2019.
Rafale fighter jets to have tail sign ‘BS’
The Indian Rafale fighter jets will fly with the tail sign ‘BS’ to honour recently retired Air Force Chief
Birender Singh Dhanoa.
The Indian Air Force has decided to put tail numbers in 30 Rafale jets with ”BS” initials.
Six Rafale trainer aircraft will carry RB series tail numbers which stand for Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria,
the current Chief of Air Staff.
Ravneet Singh: Chief of Personnel of the IN
Vice Admiral Ravneet Singh, AVSM, NM, took over as Chief of Personnel from Vice Admiral R Hair Kumar
AVSM, VSM recently.
As Chief of Personnel he will head the Personnel Branch of the Indian Navy.
Vice Admiral R Hari Kumar has been appointed as Chief of Integrated Defence Staff to the Chairman Chiefs
of Staff Committee at HQIDS.
Exercise INDRA 2019 to be held
Exercise INDRA 2019 a joint tri-services exercise between India and Russia will be conducted in India from
10-19 December 2019 simultaneously at Babina, Pune, and Goa.
The INDRA series of exercise began in 2003 and the First joint Tri Services Exercise was conducted in 2017.
The exercise will consist of a five-day training phase consisting of a comprehensive training curriculum.
